Panera Lunch!

I am such a huge fan of Panera Bread, I used to eat there almost everyday and have tried so much of their menu. I'm happy to report that there isn't one thing I DON'T like on their menu! Gaahhh, I love it all!

Chhally picked up some Panera for us to brunch on. Strawberry poppyseed salad for me, chicken caesar for him.

Mmm, so sweet and packed full of vitamins and all that healthy good stuff from the fruit.

Paired with a turkey and avocado sandwich!

And a fruit pastry to split! Yummm!

Happy eating! - TSJ

Devon Seafood Grill - Glendale, WI (Review)

We had our 6 year anniversary dinner here and through OpenTable we were able to reserve our table in advance and let them know we preferred seating on the patio. Valet was only $3 and very efficient. The hostesses were kind and asked us if we still wanted to sit outside when they greeted us. Our waitress, Kira, was top notch. Very accommodating and always smiling. She answered all of our questions and even reccommended a couple things. I ordered a Lemon Drop Martini and Chhally enjoyed a beer. The warm biscuits with honey butter that they give you were very good!

We split the Shrimp Tempura sushi roll ($7.5 for a small) as an appetizer and it was okay. Not great, but not bad either.

We ordered the Seafood Mixed Grill ($28) and the Southern Fried Softshell Crab ($26) for our entrees. Both were very good and fresh. Presentation was nice. My seafood was cooked perfectly and the mango tartar sauce that accompanied it was so tasty!

I substituted one of my sides for their Lobster Mac N Cheese for a few dollars more. I really was excited to try this and I heard it was amazing! I loved it!

For dessert we opted for their Strawberry Shortcake and it was way better than we thought it was going to be! Strawberry puree, homemade strawberry ice cream, homemade whipped cream, fresh strawberries, and a crunchy shortbread cake. The finest example of what this dessert is supposed to be like! When the bill came, our waitress told us that dessert was on the house as their way of saying Happy Anniversary! Wonderful surprise and service.

We loved it and would go back. The only problem we encountered during our dinner were the tables next to us. To our left there was a group of loud and rude ladies who talked and laughed so ridiculously loud! I could barely hear Chhally talking. And to our right, there was a table of four who started arguing and caused a small scene. We know it's not the restaurant's fault, though. So if you're going to Devon for a date night, ask for a table away from others!

Today is (Simple) - Strawberries and Nutella

After a long and stressful week, you have to find time for yourself to wind down. What better way than to treat yourself to a simple dessert.

Sephora Haul

Here's my fabulous haul!

Continuing on our anniversary bliss, Chhally let me buy whatever I wanted from Sephora. I never allow myself to go crazy here because prices are expensive! But I love Sephora because every product they sell is good quality stuff. I was definitely in need of some new foundation and brushes! My mineral powder foundation isn't working as well as I remember and it dries out my skin and makes me look pasty. My face has gotten more tan these past couple of months so I needed a darker colored foundation, too!

First things first, my new foundation! Benefits Hello Flawless Oxygen WOW Liquid Foundation. When I was checking out, the woman ringing up my items said that this was her favorite! So I was pumped to use it. It blends really well on your face and it gives you good coverage without feeling heavy. I don't feel like I have a mask on and it's flexible so there's no cracks or dry patches. SPF 25 is a major plus!

I also bought a 2-in-1 foundation and concealer brush! The brushes work really well and they feel soft on your fingertips but when I use them to apply the make-up, the ends of the bristles feel sharp and uncomfortable. I tried to really like this brush but now I regret going cheap. I should've bought a MAC brush!

I also bought a make-up setting spray. If you find your make-up deteriorating by the end of the day, then this is your solution. Urban Decay's All Nighter Spray. I gotta say, it really does work for me. You spritz it onto your face after apply all of your make-up and let it dry. It kept my foundation, blush, eye make-up, and lipstick on all day and all night until I wiped it off with make-up remover before I went to bed!

I also bought Benefits POREfessional cream. If you have large pores, this balm is a primer for your skin before you apply make-up to diminish the look of pores. It works for me if I apply it slowly and deliberately, smoothing it onto my face instead of just swiping it on. It's tinted a beige color.

I also scored a new lipstick! Tarina Tarantino Conditioning Lip Sheen in Pink Elephant. Most lipsticks that I've come across so far make my lips dry and don't last very long. This one is very moisturizing and makes my lips feel smooth like I've put on Chapstick. The color is very bright! I layer this lipstick with a nude one and it creates a really pretty light pink shade.

I also dove into Forever 21's jewelry store for a quick look around and found some cheap rings!

My Anniversary Surprise

In the gift boxes were:

A pair of expensive shoes he's had his eye on lately.

And a newly released edition of his favorite video game. He's such a GUY!

He leaves for work at 5 in the morning and I don't have to leave for work until noon. So I had plenty time to prepare a surprise for him for when he came home at 3pm. I was so giddy at work, even though I wouldn't be there to see his face when he came home. He called me right away when he stepped in the door to the room and said, "I love you!"

He opened his gifts while we were on the phone and I could totally hear the smile on his face as we talked.

And then he received another phone call from his family in Michigan that his grandmother has been rushed to the hospital. He was so sad but carried on the rest of our anniversary day with grace and strength. We managed to enjoy dinner later that night and reflect on our relationship and our oh so bittersweet life together, and he was receiving updates from his family on his grandma's condition throughout the day.

Overall, we had an amazing anniversary and the news of his grandmother was just another reminder that we have to stick together, love each other as fully as we can, and stay strong!
